Working conditions and equipment assessment

 ASSESSMENT OF WORKING ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS

It is necessary to coordinate the working environment conditions in premises of your company with the prescribed measures of protection and health at work and ensure that they meet the requirements of the activities that are taking place, all with the aim of protecting employees from occupational diseases.

As the employer, you have the obligation to ensure that the employees perform work activities in a safe and healthy manner, as well as that the examined parameters of the working environment at their workplaces are within the permitted limits.

The parameters that make up the working environment are:

  • Physical hazards (examination of noise, vibration, illumination, as well as examination of dust of physical origin),
  • Chemical hazards,
  • Harmful non-ionizing radiation (testing of IR, UV and electromagnetic radiation) as well as harmful ionizing radiation,
  • Biological hazards (testing of viruses, bacteria, parasites, fungi, molds and other substances of organic origin),
  • Explosive atmosphere,
  • Asbestos,
  • Microclimatic conditions (testing of temperature, air flow rate and relative humidity).

The deadline for the first examination of the working environment conditions determined by the Rulebook is one year from the commissioning of the facility, changes in the technological process, reconstruction of the investment facility, etc. A period of five or six years (microclimatic conditions) from the previous examination is advised for the periodic examination.

In order to keep customer satisfaction at a high level, the Institute has developed its own software solution that allows us more reliable results and easier monitoring of the examined parameters.

EXAMINATION AND TESTING OF WORK EQUIPMENT

Given the expansion of investment, especially in the construction sector, there has been an increased need to examine work means in order to reduce the risk of employees in the workplace.

Means of work, by definition, is any plant, machine, tool, equipment, tool and other on which the employee is exposed to potential injury.

It is important to note that certain means of work can present an increased danger to the life and health of employees. There are also means of work that do not pose an increased danger to the life and health of employees, which we classify as other means of work.

In order to maintain their safety at work, as well as to reduce the risk to employees, the means are subject to review and examination, as follows:

  • before commissioning,
  • before commissioning after an accident or a breakdown,
  • after a reconstruction,
  • after performing an overhaul,
  • after moving to other foundations or locations and
  • periodically in certain time periods defined by rulebooks.
